    So what rifle/bullet combo was he using? Did you recover and of the
    bullets from the animal? Were they fragmented? The last shot hit him in the
    right spot but man, the energy transfer on that combo must stink! I’m glad
    you guys waited to get him below 400!! I’ve hit elk with a 30/06 at that
    range and dropped them like a rock using a 180gr speer! Either way, great
    bull! Go buy a .338 caliber for next time though! It’s like the difference
    between a rock and a brick when it hits the animal.
