Javelinas are not rodents.
@gearhead719 Well, javelinas eat pretty much anything, even shit and dirty
stuff so they are just like rodents. I would never eat anything in the pig
or rodent family.
What you are describing is a new world pig, not a javelina. Javelinas are
herbivores.
@gearhead719 Javelina = Peccary = New World Pig from the family
Tayassuidae. They are omnivores.
@tflorestx your right about the new world pig. I was wrong about that. I
meant swine that most know and buy at their supermarket. At least here in
AZ studies have been done on their scat finding that they only eat plants.
I gues. That doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t omnivores as some humans
only eat veggies for some reason ;).
First dead giveaway that the are not rodents is that they are hooved.
Arizona game and fish classifies these as a rodent. They look like a pig,
squeal like a pig, yet they are not a pig.
Arizona Game and Fish classifies them as Tayassuidae where swine are of the
suidae family they are both from the pig like super family called Suoidea.
None of them are of the rodent family. Javelina are ungulats like elk and
deer, where they walk on their middle toes.
you mist the best park the backstrap long thick peace of meat.
didnt miss it…the purpose of the video was to show how to get the
quarters off without getting fleas all over you.
was this video shot on a vhs video camera?
the very very stupid way to “clean” a pecari
ikr
its too close to the gland…and an extra bunch of fleas
its not to close. in fact its the best part of the javelina. tastes the
best.
