Its a choate super sniper adjustable stock. Thanks for watching.
No I guess Im not an animal lover when its hunting season. That harvested cow elk went to good use at the table. It was better than its odds of starving to death or injuring a motorist crossing the highway. Its death helped the other animals have enough feed to make it through the winter. The field dressing fed coyotes, magpies and crows. The table scraps fed the cats and dog. Since Im an animal hater I should have stayed home and starved to death with you……lol…….
wow nice shot! hope to see you beat it soon
is this a hinged floorplate stock ( i’m thinking of getting this for a reminton 700 in .300 wm)
Well, what I meant was that the shot was too long. It’s not a shot to take I think, the chances of a bad shot are too high. Good luck hunting!
That was a very long shot and I understand that most hunters would never try it. Maybe we as a team shouldn’t have tried it. And I admit in my video that there was some luck in the shot. The bullet barely hit the liver. Another inch and the animal would have suffered for who knows how long. All the experience in the world still can’t guarantee a 1st round hit but it worked out on this hunt- just barely. So I understand where your coming from.
No. It has to be inletted by a gunsmith to make it a hinged floor plate. From the factory it comes as a blind mag set-up. You would use the metal and spring from your current stock to make it work. I love the super sniper stock because you can adjust the stock to fit you. The 2 cheekpieces really will help your ability to follow-through with your shooting. The open stock design puts your non shooting hand into position to control the torquing that happens during recoil. You will like it.
I can beat it on steel targets now. But to do it (hunting) in wet snowy conditions would be very hard. Dry dusty conditions where we could shoot at a rock 100 yards closer than the target (animal) would be ideal. That way we could verify what the wind was actually doing then make the corrections. Then we could try the shot hoping the conditions didn’t change. It may happen one day but everything would have to be perfect ( calm conditions, low mirage, overcast, etc…Thanks for watching.
There ought to be a law about long range shooting- in my opinion only a slob who does not respect hunting and the animal would be so cruel as to unreasonable risk wounding the animals. Unethical hunting to the extreme. Just because the shooter got lucky does not make such cruel conduct acceptable. What the hell is next- a hundred rounds at a distant elk herd and wait for one to fall?
I’ll answer the “unethical” question. Remember this, just because we can do something doesn’t mean we should. We, as hunters, have an ethical obligation to harvest animals quickly and humanely. You learn that in hunters safety. You admit the shot wasn’t perfect, it never will be at 1300 yards. You gut shot an animal and waited 1-2 hours for it to die. You shot an animal with a projectile not designed for hunting…I’ll have more with another 500 characters.
watch from 1:50 onwards just below the E and L in the “<ELK" title. There's someone there, moving and has two legs.
/watch?v=eIn1G8BeUuc no longer the longest shot ever
You sound like a liberal that wants more laws. When that happens you loose more of something called freedom. Your idea of freedom is to control what others do. Thats my perception of what evil stands for. Keep asking for more laws-that will fix everything-for good….Or for evil ?
Have you ever been hunting on the opening day of the deer hunt ? I doubt it. If you had you would have had the opportunity to witness what happens when a few deer run across the canyon while everyone opens fire on them. You would change your tune on your idea of what unethical is. And you have no idea of what the perfect hunting bullet is either. Research Chuck Hawks articles on the new premium hunting bullets. He states that these punch through bullets do a lot of wounding not harvesting.
Watch on the big screen. Its another elk.
it was Bigfoot 😉
The only thing I ever wonder about is , How many hundred animals are wounded by you LONG range shooters for ever one you get..
Yet the republicans are the ones that have implemented most laws in existence.
But besides that, Good shot. At least you killed it. I have seen a person wounding an animal at no more than 40 yards and not finding the animal until 4 days later far away from where the shot was done.
And one thing more, cars cause many far more cruel deaths than guns do every year.
A trained sniper can make a clean kill at that range, not a yo yo with a few gadgets.
Agreed on the republicans. Both parties are corrupt. And they all believe that more laws will make the world a better place. Thanks for your comments.
I wonder how many animals are wasted by close range hunters that fail to follow an animals tracks for several hundred yards (thinking they missed) looking for signs of a hit. It all comes down to what your abilities are on making a good shot and following up after you make the shot.
I have competed against some talented trained snipers and can assure you that even the best can miss. But a good trained sniper team can have a 95% chance of making great shots at extended ranges. Thats better than the average hunters odds of making a clean kill at 100 yards. The average yo yo with a few gadgets can’t make reliable 1st round hits much past 300 yards.
ODDS are 100yds is a lot better than 1000yds where a slight change in wind can cost you. I have nothing against shooting long range targets but I draw the line at extreme range shooting at animals. I feel I owe them a better chance of a clean kill than a almost good hit. And if you are interested I have weapons that are for long range shooting, so I’m not a stranger to this game. Just my thoughts, to each their own.
