Great Video as always. Thanks so much for representing the hunting community in such a great manner. In this day and age we need as many good representatives as possible, and you guys definitely fit the bill. Thanks! Where in Nebraska are they hunting?

I have a Sukup brand no-till drill that has served me well. However, Sukup no longer makes no-till drills. I have used several models of Great Plains drills throughout the whitetails’ range and have been very satisfied with each one. Great Plains no-till drills are well built and do an excellent job of metering and placing the seed. Many government agencies and agricultural stores rent no-till drills. Check with your local Ag extension office to find out about rentals.

A shotgun is preferred for turkey hunting – gauge of your choice that puts you within your range for accuracy. Lindsey Martin shoots a 12 guage. Thanks for watching GrowingDeer.tv.

can the turkey see at night when they roost in case Fisher or coon climb up the tree to eat them?

  12. GrowingDeer.tv June 21, 2013 at 2:21 pm #

I’m not aware of any research on the night vision capabilities of turkeys. I’ve flushed them off a roost at night and heard them land in other limbs — so they can see good enough at night to find a limb to land on.

Check your state regs as it varies across the nation. Most hunters are familiar with the spring gun season (April- May) but the actual dates vary by state. Plus there are special archery only seasons.
